Abstract
This article seeks to evaluate three main perspectives for understanding contemporary ethnic conflicts in India: instrumentalism, primordialism and state revisionism. In contradistinction to these two schools of thought is state-revisionism which draws inspiration mainly from the indigenous intellectual tradition.Statistics
