Abstract

Although in terms of a medium range development the present military regime can warrant a political stability, in the long run its government by decree, its authoritarian suppression of the many social conflicts, as well as the increasing economic contradictions between the few rich and the many poor people will create a dangerous revolutionary potential in Indonesia.
