Bunron – Studies in Japanese Literature
About the Journal
The journal Bunron (文論 "Text and Theory") aims at increasing the visibility of philological research within the field of Japanese Studies by publishing articles, translations, reviews and conference reports on current issues in literary studies while placing special emphasis on a theoretical approach. The journal is, however, not limited to contributions regarding canonical literary texts, but is also open to articles from contiguous disciplines such as philosophy, history, cultural studies or linguistics.
Multilingualism has always been essential for philological research. In order to promote different traditions of scientific writing, Bunron accepts submissions in German, Japanese, English and French. We hope that this multilingual journal will contribute to communication and exchange of information in the field of Japanese Literary Studies between North America, Japan and Europe.
