Abstract

Development of human resources The spectacular growth of the economy and the quick transformation of large parts of the society put a crucial strain on available human resources. Training and educa- tion are essential both to the sustainability of economic growth and to the process of social transformation. The EU policy of giving high priority to co-operation in this field thus continues to be highly relevant and should be continued in the future as a key element of support to social and economic reform. In this respect, an EU-China policy dialogue on key issues in education and training, including the exchange of expertise and knowledge in this field, should be promoted.
