Abstract

The paper deals with computer applications in Chinese language and script processing giving a concise survey of necessary hard- and software equipment.

The authors have developed a program-system including input-, output and indexing-functions called OMNITYPE. This system is running under a VAX 11/780 in connection with an AYDIN 5612 graphic-system.

OMNITYPE was used for the compilation of a learners vocabulary for Chinese. A short survey over computer aided instructions in Chinese is given at the end of the paper.
