Probleme beim Sprachvergleich chinesischer Yuqi-Wörter und deutscher Modalpartikeln

Abstract

Chinese sentence-final particles are optional in sentence-based, traditional grammar, but crucial in the discourse-based study of a communication interchange. Research on sentence-final particles is quite limited. But in most structural and functional aspects they are very similar to profoundly-researched German modal particles. Still there have been no contrastive studies. This paper applies various methods of linguistic analysis, that were developed for modal particles, to sentence-final particles. It also discusses different sorts of problems related to a contrastive study of sentence-final particles and modal particles to stress the importance of a corpus-based investigation. As an exemplary approach ne is looked at according to its pragmatic functions.
