Draupadi Verlag – Literature from all parts of the world
Draupadi Verlag was founded in autumn 2003. It is the aim of this publishing house to make South Asian Literature better known in the German speaking countries. More than 110 titles have been published so far. In the course of time the program has been enlarged and titles of German and African authors also have been published. But the focus remained on South Asia. 18 books were translated directly from Hindi to German, 8 from Bengali, 3 from Tamil and 2 from Malayalam. Some South Asian novels have been translated from English to German.
Through HASP Draupadi Verlag provides selected specialist books on South Asia for which no reprinting is planned. The books are available in the form of Open Access Online-Publications. The printed edition can be ordered directly from the publisher.
