Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • You have read the author guidelines and confirm that the manuscript adheres to the requirements outlined there
  • You agree to the publication ethics, copyright and data collection policies of IQAS
  • Your submission has not been previously published, nor is it being considered for publication elsewhere
  • You are submitting your original work and have the rights to the work
  • If the work and/or words of others are used they have been cited or quoted according to scientific standards
  • Your manuscript is preceded by an abstract and keywords (not for book reviews)
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word or RTF document file format
  • Formatting is reduced to the necessary minimum
  • You have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by you
  • Illustrations, figures (at least 300 dpi) and tables are kept to a minimum, are numbered consecutively and placed within the text at the appropriate point.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the author guidelines

Author Guidelines

Before you submit your paper, please read the author guidelines below carefully. Please note that manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned. Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the  → aims and scope of IQAS will be accepted for peer review. You can log in to the submission site at any time to check on the progress of your paper through the peer-review process. Kindly note that it might currently take up to 8 months from submission to publication.

Fees

IQAS does not charge an article processing charge, neither for the online nor for the print version of each issue. 


Register for Submission

To begin, contact us to create a user account for you. Only registered authors are able to submit their manuscript online.
After registration the system will then guide you through the process. Here are the single steps in case you need some guidance:

  1. Log in with your user ID and password. If you are unsure about whether or not you have an account, or have forgotten your password, go to “Login / Forgot your Password” and follow the instructions.
  2. Please choose “Submissions” in the main menu, then “My Queue” and click on “New Submission”
  3. Enter the initial information (language, section, optional comments for the editors, agreement with data collection policy)
  4. Upload your file. Please choose “article text” only; this will be considered as the main text by the system.
  5. Enter all metadata (title, author, abstract, keywords)
  6. Save and Submit
  7. Check the progress of your paper through the peer review process occasionally by logging in to the submission site.

IQAS is published under the Creative Commons license → Creative Commons License CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International). This allows others to re-use the work without permission as long as the work is properly referenced, but doesn't allow to use the material for commercial purposes or to distribute any modification of the original material. All rights remain with the author.

The authors grant IQAS the non-exclusive right to reproduce his or her contribution in physical form, and to provide a paid print version of each issue in addition to the free online version. The costs for the print version are calculated to cover the costs for publication only and are not profit-seeking.

All articles submitted to IQAS must not have been published or be under consideration elsewhere. We are unable to pay for permissions to publish pieces whose copyright is not held by the author. Contributors will be responsible for clearing all copyright permissions before submitting interview citations, translations, illustrations, tables or long quotes.
